This novel-writing business is tougher than I thought. I deleted 6,209 words today – or rather saved them, but put them in a different file. Leslie didn’t really need to run off to Paris, even though it made a nice interlude. (Walking along the Seine is romantic and all, but it’s much more interesting to fall in love in Oxford.)
So far, Leslie has housemates, a church, a love interest, and a part-time job at a garden shop. I’m just enjoying myself – and probably rambling a bit – to the tune of 26,895 words. (Sometimes I do have to delete sections when they meander into full-on memoir. Clearly my next project is already on the horizon.)
Thanks for your interest – you’re all gems. I’ll update again soon!
You’re a novel-writer! That is so exciting.
Thanks for the updates — keep them a-comin’! 🙂
