Just a quick update on my “25 things to do before I turn 26” post. Here’s the list in its current form. (Finished items are struck through and ones begun are starred*.)
1. Give a heartfelt (and, ideally, eloquent) toast at my sister’s wedding (I’m not sure if it was eloquent, but it was definitely heartfelt, and I got through it without sobbing, as mentioned below.)
2. Travel to England with Jeremiah for two weddings of people we love* (My boss said yes! We’ve booked airline tickets and are checking on other costs!)
3. Finish The Count of Monte Cristo (720-ish pages to go…)* (now just over halfway)
4. Spring-clean my closet*
5. Start scrapbooking last year in Oxford
6. Start an herb garden (I’m growing rosemary and basil on my porch, plus tomatoes, a fern and a geranium)
7. Blog at least twice a week, except when on vacation*
8. Celebrate my first wedding anniversary
9. Go see Rent in Dallas with J (we decided not to do this, in light of other trips we’re planning to take this summer)
10. Celebrate J’s graduation from MFI in August
11. Write five real letters*
12. Visit somewhere I’d like to move
13. Go to the soap company in Strawn, TX, with Bethany (and Abi; April 4)
14. See Becoming Jane (April 10, with Grace – it was excellent)
15. Have a few more “girls’ days” on Saturdays with Abi, Grace, Kelsey and Bethany*
16. Finish watching the complete Gilmore Girls (all 7 seasons), return Charity’s DVDs (which I’ve had since September), and write about my impressions of the series (look for a post soon)
17. Take a yoga or Pilates class
18. Hang out with our neighbors, the Fletchers, again
19. Host Lifeteam at our house again (April 19; we had a small crowd, but it was wonderful to sit in our living room, with room to breathe, and lovely evening light. We’re hosting again tomorrow night.)
20. Host ladies’ coffee night at my house (April 14, and it was a smashing success)
21. Write a few more poems (National Poetry Month is definitely helping me out on this one; I’m enjoying the act of playing with words on the page again)
22. Start a big writing project
23. Soak up & savor the Highland family retreat at HEB camp (last weekend of March – SO FUN)
24. Have several hangout nights with Bethany*
25. Travel somewhere I’ve never been
So I’m working on it. 🙂 Happy weekend!
I’m glad to have been a little part of several of your crossed off items. You’re such a great friend. You are aware that you are not allowed to move, right?
Katie! I wish you could have come to Rent with us! We went last week…it was great! I was happy to see you have a blog, we have one to (lund3.blogspot.com) if you want to check it out. Let me know next time you will be in DFW…you can meet my family! 🙂
