My friends Kara and Alex have a band. They both just graduated college and have moved to Austin, and they released a digital EP, Hello, Beautiful Heart, a few weeks ago. I’ve been listening to it on repeat ever since.
Kara was in Oxford with me in spring ’08, and could often be heard singing and playing her guitar; Alex played in the house band when Jeremiah was a Sing Song host. So we knew they were musical. But wow, I’m blown away by their collaboration. And Glen Hansard, of The Frames, The Swell Season and the movie Once, actually tweeted about their video cover of his song last month!
