I love thrift-store hunting as much as the next girl, but I gotta say, the pickings are slim in Abilene. So I was thrilled to read about a few well-known thrift stores in Boston…and even more thrilled to discover Second Time Around on Charles Street.
STA is a New England chain of consignment stores, and they have 10 locations in Mass., four in central Boston. I’ve been to all three shops on Newbury Street (Boston’s high-fashion area), and they have lovely and expensive things. But the one on Charles Street, in Beacon Hill, is smaller, friendlier and much more affordable. I’m not really a designer-label girl – I just want clothes that fit well and look great.
So I’ve taken to haunting STA periodically, and I’ve already spent some birthday money on a sweet silk top and a cute yellow skirt, bought a funky brown belt, and sighed over various lovely things. And I’ll definitely be keeping my eyes peeled for future deals.
Where are your favorite places to score great deals?
