Back in early April, I posted a Spring Manifesto – all the things I wanted to do and see and taste this spring. I’m pleased to report I’ve crossed off most of the items on the list. Here, an update:
Watch for crocuses, daffodils, blooming trees and tulips. Yes, yes and yes. (See above.) Fly down to Texas for a work conference and a weekend with family. It was a glorious week, though I wish the hubs could have come along. While I’m there, eat as much Tex-Mex food as I can. (Nailed it.) Wear brightly colored shoes. My flats in red, silver and green, plus my jade-green loafers and red wellies, are seeing regular action. So much fun after a winter of black boots. Bake with rhubarb.I made the strawberry-rhubarb crisp from Animal, Vegetable, Miracle last weekend – it’s become a spring ritual. We ate it with plastic forks, sitting around the table in Ryan and Amy’s backyard. Seven-year-old Sierra asked if she could lap up the extra juice. Continue the #100happydays photo challenge. Still loving it.
- Treat myself to a pedicure. (Must do this soon.)
Celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday in early May. We had a wonderful weekend in Vermont, with friends (above). And I bought him a wee cheesecake – his favorite – for the two of us to enjoy (below).
- Host a spring-cleaning clothing and book swap. (In the works.)
Make some summer travel plans. The calendar is filling up and I can’t wait.
What’s on your list for this spring?
