This list is straight from Hula, who inspired this whole crazy project anyway – check out her list here.
1. My red wallet, bought on a field trip to Sam Moon with the coffee ladies.
2. Black pens – because I am an inveterate scribbler, and like Anne Shirley, I am picky about pens.
3. My journal. I usually use the kraft-covered Moleskines and decorate the covers myself; currently I’m writing in one decorated with red-and-cream stickers bearing phrases about Paris.
4. Altoids Smalls. Because sometimes the big ones are overwhelming.
5. A nail file shaped like a wedge of lime.
6. A combination mirror and hairbrush, bought for $1 at Target.
7. Lip gloss – at least two different kinds – and Burt’s Bees peppermint beeswax balm. Because I am addicted.
8. Tissues. Especially this time of year.
9. Hand lotion. Currently white grapefruit.
10. My cell phone. So you can reach me, and I can reach you.
11. My sunglasses, in an adorable case bought on Etsy.
12. Advil – for those days.
13. Hats and gloves, usually handknit, when I’m not wearing them.
14. My keys – to the Honda, the house, both the offices and both the classrooms.
What do you carry around with you?
Interesting and fun post! A possible followup…how big/small is your bag? I’m so picky about purses.
Well, I’m in Dallas at the moment (taking advantage of the whole “back in USA because of my visa” problem) and just went to Sam Moon. I, too, bought a wallet. It’s orange pleather and looks nice and bright inside of my new green bag. 🙂 As for the inside: lipstick (instead of gloss), a book, a small notepad and pen, my i phone (addicted?), face blotting paper, wallet, and a little bag with loose advil, bobby pins, a hair elastic and plain chapstick.
OK. Up to this point, I’ve known you were a lovely writer. I’ve known that you dress in a precious; very classy style. I’ve known that you are an avid, tea-drinking knitter. I’ve known that, much like me, you are prone to getting lost in the pages of good books. Today is different, Katie. Today is a day that I realize I am a sold-out Katie Noah Gibson fan!! If your life were a television series, like my beloved Gilmore Girls, I’d memorize EVERY episode. Now, I want to move our relationship from being just neighbors, and church acquaintances to the next level. I want to know you as my friend. May I propose a dinner date in the near future? Let me know what your feelings are! Bless you!
Let’s see. Do I have to be honest here? Hmmmm…
1.The cell phone charger I have been looking for for over 3 days
2. The zipper wallet that won’t close because of all the one act play receipts
3. The wrapper to the new pack of pokemon cards my 9 year old bought (he couldn’t find a trash can nearby and HAD to open them right at that moment)
4. Chapstick with crumbs of “something” around the cap
5. Tons of loose change at the bottom creating some serious heaviness
6. My cell phone—I hope—-even though I never seem to be able to find it in there—-even though I can hear it ringing
7. The lipstick I couldn’t find yesterday when I really needed it
8. Pieces of an unwanted McDonald’s toy
9. 7 pens that don’t work
10. A pair of rhinestone earring —one with with the back missing—therefore having to be placed in the purse before getting lost
11. The stub of my paycheck—can’t throw that away—identity theft, you know
12.My grocery list from 3 weeks ago
That’s a good start. Does any one think I should do some “spring cleaning” in the handbag area?
Fun post, Katie!
I love this picture. The shape of your feet matched with the shape of your bag-things gives it a tree feel… maybe I’m crazy, but the whole thing makes a tree shape. (Perhaps I did too much staring at Magic Eye as a kid.)
I carry a backpack everywhere that is too fat to list, but my pockets are pretty full:
1. Cell phone.
2. A cherished tube of Burt’s Bees… I would NOT find that in Armenia.
3. A flash drive currently holding Armenian tunes I got from my friend to try out (here comes more Armenian reggae… urakh!!)
4. A tiny square of paper with a list for my trip to the store including sugar, sour cream, cheese, and lavash (it’s a bean burrito night… using my last can of refried beans!).
5. Some dram coins.
6. Keys to my desk, gate and house.
7. My wallet which I bought here that looks like it’s from the seventies slash make me want to be wearing beaten up jeans and a t-shirt and riding my longboard.
Love the lists! Keep em coming!
I keep my wallet, keys and tissues in the pockets of my jacket and don’t take a bag everywhere. But when I do, I always take a book. Sometimes I even manage to squeeze a book into my pockets …
Love your list feature!
