A little Valentine’s surprise for you (because Kim asked, and because I’m still amazed):
This is my first time growing paperwhites (#4 on my winter list). I’m growing used to the sweet, odd scent – and as Julie says, they really do seem to grow before your eyes! (Though I had to transplant them all into tall vessels, so the stems wouldn’t fall over from the weight of the buds.)
What’s surprising you this winter?
Your paper whites looks gorgeous! They do have a tendency to flop. I usually have to tie a ribbon around mine, too, because they’re just keep shooting up 🙂
Your paperwhites look lovely! The scent is a little strong for me, so I grow amaryllis instead. It is such a treat to get fresh, blooming flowers in the dead of winter 🙂
So perfect. I’m adding “home gardening” to the list of things I want to learn from you next winter. You already know ‘knitting’ is on there…
your paper whites are so pretty!! i find they get leggy too, but I’ve seen some people keep them at the bottom of a tall clear vase, and then they grow in there, and can’t fall over at all.
This makes me so happy I can’t even tell you. I love them! I especially love how there is more and more light in the background for each pic. OH, KATIE.
How pretty!!
